Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
I am submitting this petition to formally request enrollment in Biology 300, which is a mandatory course for my Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biology. I am currently in my fifth year of studies, and this course is the final requirement for my graduation. Unfortunately, during my third year, I was unable to take Biology 300 due to the fact that I went on a year-long exchange in England. While I acknowledge that this is not an excuse, I want to emphasize that I have been attending Biology 300 lectures this year. I believe that with your approval, I can quickly catch up on the coursework and am willing to complete any additional assignments or tasks required. I have been in touch with Professor Paul Martin and he supports this petition and has stated that he will help me catch up on any missed assignments. He also suggested that I could complete lecture and lab work through an online platform should the class be too full to abide by university safety standards.
Before classes began, I contacted the Biology department and was told that, if there were no schedule conflicts I would be enrolled into the course within the first few weeks of classes. However, once this time came about I was told enrollment was no longer possible. This situation has been extremely stressful for me as I had planned to complete the course and graduate in the spring. I also considered the possibility of taking the course at another university, but after a discussion with the Biology department, they let me know that this could not be done.
Having dedicated four years to my studies at Queen's University, I am very committed to graduating this spring. Please consider my request, as it would significantly help my predicament and enable me to achieve my long-awaited goal. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sanae Weimer
