Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean Dr. Jenn Stephenson.
I am submitting this petition for Credit Standing in PHAR 100. This course was taken in W21, and I am additionally requesting that the one-year deadline for submitting the petition be waived. This request is made on account that entering school during COVID-19 impeded my ability to receive academic advising and understand the petitions and appeals process.
The extenuating circumstances that impacted my performance in this course are as follows. This course was an elective science credit, as it interested me, and is not a major requirement for my political science degree. It, along with other courses, was delivered entirely online in W21, however, it was the only course at Queens that used Examity for final exam proctoring. As a student with a registered accommodation, including writing exams in a quiet room, I found the Examity proctoring extremely debilitating. Every few minutes, the live proctor would shout, suddenly, over the camera
