Petition Letter
I am submitting this petition requesting to drop ANAT 315 from my fall 2023 course load. Due to personal extenuating circumstances beyond my control, my academic performance was affected.
The course grading timeline has four assessments (midterm and final lab and written exams) and during the week of October 16th, 40% of the final course mark was collected in two assessments. I had to manage grave family-related issues from a long distance as well as a minor chest infection for two weeks after returning from reading week. While I had prepared to the best of my abilities and felt I could push through and perform well on the assessments, my personal circumstances very much decreased my academic performance.
These circumstances also affected my academic performance in other courses but due to the anatomy course evaluating 40%, this course was the most affected.
Upon a review of my academic standing with the School of Kinesiology and Health Science undergraduate academic advisor, we came to the conclusion that it would be the best academic decision to drop this course.
