Petition Letter
December 4th, 2023
Associate Dean, Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am petitioning to drop PHYS 206 (Fall, 2023). My reasoning for this is because of extenuating circumstances regarding my family. This year, my parents are finalizing their divorce after six years of separation. It has been very hectic, and I have played the middleman in a lot of it. It has put me in a state of constant stress regarding both my parents, as well as my personal financial situation, as I have had to become fully financially independent due to their divorce. This began in the middle of September and continues to be on my mind at all times. Because of the stress from this, I let my focus on this specific course drop, due to its difficulty, and I believe that I will not be able to pass the class. Hence, I am petitioning to drop PHYS 206 and take it again during this summer.
Thank you very much for your consideration, I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Delaney Beacock
