Petition Letter
While I tried my best to perform as best as possible in studying in this course, there were extenuating circumstances that were too much for me to handle in combination with my academic pursuit this term. My family currently all lives in Toronto leaving me little to no choice in terms of finding a place to live as I would need to both be working and studying at the same time which did end up taking a toll on me both physically and mentally as I would need to balance both my academic and work load daily. On top of that, whenever certain issues came up in my family that required my presence. I would need to be absent from Kingston for a couple, if not more days to visit Toronto to solve the issue at hand, such as our pet rupturing her cruciate ligament, requiring constant attention and care as well as making appointments with an animal hospital to arrange her surgery since I was the most knowledgeable in her conditions, resulting in constant academic absence. While in a constant back-and-forth between managing academics and workload, while dealing with personal and family issues, I noticed a significant decrease in my productivity and mental health as I was stressed about so many tasks at once. All of this came with the cost as there were only more deadlines and expectations to meet after another and although I did my best in doing the best I could, I couldn't keep the consistency through all courses. Finishing it off, I do understand that this is the nature of life and I should take this as a lesson to learn my limit and ability to handle such situations, but I also want to emphasize my current situation in this appeal and consider for an review of my academic matter.
