Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am petitioning to drop COMM 163 (Fall, 2023). My reasoning for this is because of extenuating circumstances regarding my family. This year, my mom and her common-law partner recently separated and he was the primary income for my household, and we relied on him significantly. This has put me in a state of constant stress regarding my mom and brothers, as well as my own financial situation. Because of this, I have had to become fully financially independent, aside from OSAP. They separated just before the end of summer and the stresses continue to weigh on my mind every day. Due to these circumstances, I have let my focus in this specific course drop, due to its difficulty, and I will not be able to pass the class. Hence, I am petitioning to drop COMM 163 and take it again over the summer, or when it best fits into my course schedule.
