Petition to Drop CISC 365 Late
Hi there, my name is Ryan. I am a 3rd year computer science student who was enrolled in CISC 365 for the 2023 Fall semester. I am submitting this petition to drop CISC 365 late because I was unable to keep up with and complete the course this semester due to circumstances out of my control. My physical and mental health declined rapidly during the latter half of the semester when the majority of the assessments for this class were due. My eczema flared up to the worst it has ever been, and I found myself struggling to even keep up in my other 4 courses, let alone CISC 365, which was easily my most difficult class. A normal occurrence for me is to vaccum the dead skin off my bed every morning and I have become accustomed this but, this past semester my eczema was more severe than ever. During this time, I was losing sleep over my skin, I was on painkillers every day for almost 2 weeks, and it even hurt to take a shower. I have talked with a councilor and they have agreed that this has been an extenuating circumstance. I am enrolled in the course again for the coming winter semester and will be pouring the majority of my study time into this course. I hope this is enough reason to allow me to drop CISC 365.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Ryan
