Subject: Request for Late Course Drop Consideration Due to Mental Health and Family Bereavements
Dear Queens Registrar's Office,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request consideration for a late course drop for the Devs 260. I was enrolled in during first term. I understand the importance of maintaining academic standards, but unfortunately, I have faced significant personal challenges over the past year that have significantly impacted my ability to perform academically.
I am dealing with ongoing mental health challenges that have escalated in severity over the past few months. Additionally, I have experienced multiple family bereavements during this time, which has added an extra layer of emotional and psychological strain. These combined factors have made it incredibly difficult for me to focus on my studies and meet the demands of the coursework.
I have attached documentation from my mental health professional outlining the severity of my condition and the impact it has had on my academic performance.
I understand that Queens has a strict policy regarding course drops, and I genuinely regret not bringing this matter to your attention earlier. However, the cumulative effect of my mental health struggles and family losses has reached a point where it is impairing my ability to meet the requirements of Devs 260.
I am not seeking special treatment but instead requesting an opportunity to alleviate some of the burden on my academic standing during this challenging time. If granted this consideration, I am committed to resuming my studies this term and promptly meeting all remaining course requirements.
I appreciate your understanding and consideration of my circumstances. I will provide any additional information or documentation necessary to support my request. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Liam Marks 20264495
