Academic Plan
I plan to pursue a minor in math. STAT263 is a required course for a math minor, enrollment will allow me to fulfill these course requirements. I am a full-time student, who took 5 courses each semester last year, and one summer course to lighten my course load in the future. Therefore, I am well ahead with regards to credits. Attached is a plan I created initially to help me plan courses needed to pursue my linguistics major and math minor in the next few years.
I find math and statistics very interesting, so it will not be an issue regarding motivation to study course content. Moreover, I am aware I have missed one quiz, however my 2 lowest marks on quizzes in this course are dropped, therefore this will not affect my final grade in the course. After enrolment, I will discuss with Professor Molson about the implications of missed quiz content.
Professor Molson publishes slides which he uses in all his lectures. I will review the slides again, making thorough notes. He has recommended 2 textbooks. I have already bought his workbook (STAT263 Coursepack), but I will buy his textbook too (Mod Elem Sel. Winter 2025 by Freund), which will supplement my notes.
