Petition Letter
I am a fourth-year Life Science student who had planned to graduate at the end of this semester. I had an academic advisory appointment this morning (Friday, January 26th, 2024) in which I found out that I was 1.5 credits short. I was unaware of this missing credit, I was under the assumption my degree was in good standing for graduation this June from looking at my degree check a couple of months ago, but I must have been confused because my chemistry minor that I recently had dropped had made my requirement a bit hard for me to understanding.
After finding out about these missing credits, the academic advisor (Jenna) told me my options to petition immediately to get into a course as soon as possible.
I have worked extremely hard these past four years to ensure I graduate on time and that everything goes according to plan. I would truly hate to see one minor mistake that I have made over this time completely jeopardize my chances of graduating on time with the majority of my class as well as complicate my applications to post graduate studies.
