Petition Letter
Hello to whomever this may concern,
My name is Macy Tyzio and I am in my fourth year of studies in politics. I am reaching out and writing this petition as I am requesting to add a late elective past the deadline date. This year my dad had recently suffered a life-threatening stroke after battling cancer and going through intense treatment. With this being said, I arranged my classes based on what I was able to do while my dad was still struggling in hospital as I was travelling back-and-forth from Burlington to Kingston, as I did not want to stop school altogether. With this being said, I am now trying to make up for the classes that I have missed and I created a class schedule that was quite heavy, and I struggled with last semester with stress and anxiety and balancing school and trying to support my dad (as I am one of his main caretakers) and did not end up with the marks that I truly wanted to and really found the school load tough. With this being said, I am reaching out as I would like to drop one of my courses and add a late elective as I have to come back for another term to make up for these classes. I understand that I am past the deadline to add an elective but I really wanted to see if I was able to balance School and take care of my dad and try and get as much as I could done now but it’s just not something I’m gonna be able to do with my learning disabilities, splitting my time Between Kingston and Burlington, and accomplish my academic goals. Therefore, I’m really hoping that this petition will go through, and someone can show me pity for trying to accomplish as much as i can but just biting off to much I can swallow.
