Petition Letter
I trust this message finds you well. I am writing to urgently address my current situation regarding the enrolment requirements for the Dentistry program at the University of Saskatchewan. Despite my persistent efforts, I have not yet secured the necessary 3 credits in metabolism biochemistry, as mandated by the university. I reached out to the Saskatchewan Dentistry office in early December and once again in early January, expressing my concern about the credits. Regrettably, I received a response only this morning, significantly surpassing the enrolment deadline.
Compounding this issue, my father, a stage 4 cancer patient, faced a critical health situation earlier this month. He was hospitalized for two weeks due to the metastasis of the tumour to his brain. While managing his medical crisis, I assumed my credits were fulfilled with the other BCHM credits I possess.
I currently possess 9 BCHM credits, and the sole deficiency lies in the metabolism biochemistry course. I am earnestly seeking your understanding and requesting an exception to the enrolment deadline, with a commitment to completing the required course by April 30, 2024.
This extension is paramount for my eligibility to enrol in the Dentistry program for the Fall 2024 term. I understand the significance of deadlines but hope that, given the exceptional circumstances, the university can consider my situation with compassion and flexibility.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your positive response. I am an eager student and I will be able to handle the workload and catch up to course material. I am also asking for permission to do course overload this semester. I have done 6 courses each semester since Fall 2022, I will be able to handle the workload and catch myself up in course content. Hope to hear from you soon, thank you!
