Petition Letter
I am requesting to add my Winter 2024 courses past the add deadline due to having faced extenuating circumstances which interfered with my ability to add courses during the required deadline. Due to facing extenuating circumstances before and during the period of adding Winter classes, I was unsure if I would be able to move forward with my classes during this term. However, I have been able to solidify my ability to complete my winter 2024 term classes by seeking assistance from counsellors, academic tutors, family doctor, registration with QSAS and created a plan for success to move forward with the winter 2024 semester which I am eager to complete. The extenuating circumstances occurring during the last few months impacted my ability to plan accordingly for the winter term as I was unsure if these circumstances would last during the winter term. As I have been able to recover during the last weeks and upon seeking support and feedback from health professionals regarding my ability to return to school and complete my winter courses, I feel confident and eager to move forward with my winter courses. Completing these courses would allow me to graduate by the end of the year which is something that I have been eager and excited to complete but have had to take time to do due to ongoing extenuating circumstances. I would be happy to provide an additional layer documentation, names of staff members at Queen’s I have spoken to who can speak on behalf of my extenuating circumstances and anything else that would help grant me entry into these classes past the add date.
