Petition Letter
Last year I took the first number theory course, MATH 311 and I loved it. I also did very well in the course and ended with 100%. When it was time for course selection I didn't think I wanted to go to math grad school so it didn't matter too much which courses I took. However now I want to go to grad school, specifically for the field of number theory, so it is very important that I take the second number theory course MATH 418. I spoke with the course instructor Professor Ram Murty as well as the department head Professor Professor Peter Taylor and they fully support my decision to take this course. During my conversation with Professor Peter Taylor emphasized his confidence that with hard work I will be able to succeed in the course as well as the importance that I take this course for credit in order to get into number theory grad school programs.
