Petition Letter
Hello Associate Dean
My name is Zhimu Wang, my student number is 20190758, and I’m a forth year student in Computing and Mathamtics, this is the petition letter in order to extend my second petition. For my second petition, I want to apply an credit standing for my grade from 2022 winter 2023 winter. My situation is describing in below:
From the winter of 2021 to the winter of 2023, I experienced severe emotional bullying. A student from my school threatened and intimidated me, engaging in PUA tactics, and extorted a large sum of money from me. At one point in Canada, I had to ate a hamburger for a week because they forced me to hand over all the money provided by my family, using threats. At the same time, my mental health severely deteriorated, affecting my grades, finances, and the relationship with my family. I must admit, during that period, I once considered ending my life, but I persevered. In the summer of 2023, I returned to my home country (China）, attempted to repair the relationship with my parents, and actively sought psychological treatment, hoping to move past everything. Contrary to my hopes, when I returned to Kingston, Canada, in the fall semester of 2023 to complete my final term at Queen's University, they came back. Around 9:40 PM on November 16, they (the girl and boy who had emotionally bullied me) barged into my house, pointed a gun at my temple, and demanded $700. My girlfriend called the police, and my roommate, who also lives in this house, became a witness. They were arrested but have since been released on bail. It's hard for me to believe I've experienced all this; my parents always taught me to treat others with sincerity and warmth, yet my life has been treated this way. However, it's worth mentioning that my grades this semester, fall 2023, were not significantly affected. I've shared all these events with Haley Everson, who has provided me with a lot of help. My psychologist at Queen's University, Aunima Khanna, along with psychologists from China, have provided certificates in support. I hope you can consider this.
In addition, I also want to explain why I did not drop these classes in advance to receive psychological treatment and get out of it earlier. The main reason is that I had serious mental problems at the time. I was afraid of them, but they would also use some means. It makes me feel that I can't live without them. For example, they took away all my money, but when I couldn't live anymore, they would buy me some cheap food. This method controlled me. Additionally they destroyed all my network of friends in Kingston, I had no one to talk to except them, I even suffered huge problems with my relationship at home, my mother no longer trusted me. This makes it impossible for me to escape from all this, and it is like a quagmire that deeply imprisons me.
Finally, what I want to tell you is that after they completely left my life, my study and all directions are back on track. My grades can actually be seen. In addition, I applied for this petition because I hope that I can continue my graduate studies. These nearly two years of problems have been a devastating blow to my grades. I hope you can help me. I also really hope that I can be a better myself in my future studies.
