Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am writing to formally petition for the withdrawal from the KNPE 125 course for the current semester. I understand the importance of maintaining academic progress and integrity, however, my personal challenges have significantly taken a toll on my mental health.
The primary reason for my petition is the unexpected and significant personal challenges I have faced throughout this semester. While I recognize the importance of maintaining privacy, I must convey that these issues have profoundly impacted my ability to focus on my studies and maintain the expected level of academic performance.
These personal issues arose around December 2023 and are still ongoing at this time. I am experiencing challenges which have taken a toll on my mental health. They have interfered with my capacity to engage effectively with course material, and have taken away my focus to be able to give this course my full attention and potential.
In response to these challenges, I took proactive steps to address the situation and mitigate its impact on my academic standing. I sought support from advisors and counselors. I attempted to balance my personal responsibilities with my academic commitments to the best of my ability.
Despite these efforts, the severity and duration of my personal issues have made it evident that I am unable to fulfill the requirements of the KNPE 125 course satisfactorily. It is with great regret that I submit this petition. However, given the circumstances, I believe that withdrawing from KNPE 125 and perhaps revisiting this course at a later time is the most prudent course of action for both my academic well-being and the integrity of the course itself.
I sincerely appreciate your consideration of my request for withdrawal from the KNPE 125 course. If there are any further steps or information required from my end, please do not hesitate to contact me at 21er19@queensu.ca
Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
