Petition Letter
As a 4th year BSc (Hons) Kinesiology student, I took PSYC 221 as an elective course in my final semester. I struggled with the two midterm exams, receiving 43% and 47%. As a result, I reached out to the TAs and the prof, as well as the course email to inquire about how to best prepare for the final to ensure a passing grade. However, I did not receive any responses. Despite my best efforts to prepare for success on the final exam, I logged onto SOLUS this week to check my final grades, and received an F in PSYC 221. I have never received a failing grade in my undergraduate studies, and as a result of this grade, will not be graduating in June with my BSc (Hons) Kinesiology degree. I am struggling to make arrangements to receive this degree, as the job I have been hired for beginning next week requires me to write my RKin exam in September 2024, which requires a BSc (Hons) Kinesiology degree. I am overwhelmed and disappointed in this outcome and am hoping there is a way to receive my honours degree in June as planned, given that all my required courses for my degree have been successfully completed upon the first attempt.
