Subject: Petition to Add PSYC100 Course
The Request:
I am writing to formally petition for the opportunity to enroll in the PSYC100 course during this summer session. This request is of utmost importance as it significantly impacts my academic progression and future application for a master’s degree.
Explanation of Extenuating Circumstances:
During my freshman year, I faced several personal challenges and difficulties adjusting to university life, which adversely affected my academic performance. Despite my earnest efforts, I was unable to achieve a satisfactory grade in PSYC100, resulting in a significant negative impact on my GPA. Since this course has affected my GPA, my average score cannot reach A-, that is, 3.7, but this GPA is very important for my future postgraduate application, so I need at least 3.7 to ensure that my application will not have any problems. Recognizing the importance of this course for my academic goals, I decided to retake it this summer to improve my grades.
However, due to the popularity of the PSYC100 course, I encountered difficulties in re-enrolling. I attempted to add the course through Solus but was unable to do so because I was retaking it. Consequently, I sought assistance from the Student Service of Arts and Sciences, but by the time I reached out, the course was full, and I was placed on the waiting list. Despite my proactive efforts, I have not yet secured a spot in the course.
I kindly request your support in allowing me to enroll in the PSYC100 course this summer. This opportunity is pivotal for my academic success and future career aspirations. I am committed to making the necessary adjustments and efforts to excel in the course and maintain a high academic standard moving forward.
