Academic Plan
In my next few years at Queen’s, I plan to make many adjustments to my routine to better prepare for my seasonal depression and depressive episodes. As mentioned, I have purchased a sunlight lamp to use daily during the winter, and I will begin taking vitamin D3 tablets daily with my antidepressant on both cloudy days (as I have recently noticed a negative impact from those) and once days become shorter. I plan to speak with my accommodation advisor before I begin my second year to inquire about what accommodations I can access for my MDD. I have also begun going to therapy with a Master's in Social Work recipient to find coping skills for my Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized anxiety disorder. I will continue to meet with them throughout the school year. Finally, if I do not feel I have improved enough during my second year, and I still lack motivation, during the summer 2025 term, I plan to take the full 15 units of summer courses permitted to lighten my course load during, at the very least, the fall term. I hope that since it is sunny and beautiful out during the summer term months, it will not cause a depressive episode.
