Academic Plan
My academic plan will primarily be to consult weekly with an academic counsellor in order to ensure that I'm working towards my academic goals, as well as a health, counselling, and disability services counsellor to make sure my mental health, as well as my personal problems, does not interfere with my academic success. I believe that seeing a personal counsellor while at Queen's will ensure that my own mental health is stable and my past family problems no longer affecting my academic career at Queen's. If more family issues arise, I will be able to deal with them better. I plan on frequently attending the office hours of my professors and TA's as well as hiring a tutor to ensure that I'm doing as well as possible. I will make a detailed academic calendar for myself as well as a spreadsheet of all my current assignments and readings to ensure that I don't fall behind. I will make realistic academic goals for myself at the beginning of the term, and work towards them using services such as the writing centre as well as my professors and TA's.
In the 12 years of schooling prior to Queen's, I excelled academically. I enjoy learning; I enjoy studying, and have normally done quite well at it. My time at Queen's so far has been an anomaly, and I want to prove it.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
