Academic Plan
Academic Plan:
-I intend to review my course selections and to focus on courses that really interest me the most
-I now know that I can't learn to deal with the issues that ADD impose on me without help. I plan to ask for assistance from Disability Services at Queen's, and to work with a Learning Strategies Advisor. I also intend to resume talking my medication, at least on a trial basis. I hope to have regular access to counselling services if I need the, particularly in exam season. I have spoken to the Disabilities Office, and help is available for students like me.
-I know Queen's has a lot of resources for students with ADHD, and I've already read some of their material online. I plan to try many of the strategies they recommend, to help me organize my tasks more effectively.
-I know my environment is important and now that I will be living with friends closer to campus than last year, I am confident that my learning environment has greatly improved. That being said, I am going to focus on keeping my desk clean and organized and also establish a work routine to organize my day better.
-I am going to be honest to my friends and reach out when I need help. I have caring, helpful friends who I know will be supportive of me. I will not make the same mistake and push away my peers.
-I really do want to succeed and I think that if I follow this plan I will be able to achieve to the level I know I can.
