Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am petitioning for an urgent resolution regarding an issue significantly impacting my academic and athletic commitments at Queen’s University.
Due to a hold placed on my account, I have been unable to register for essential courses. While waiting to be removed from a waitlist for a mandatory class I require to graduate, I was hopeful I would be added as I was first on the waitlist and am in my fourth year. This resulted in my delay in tuition payment, which was paid in full on September 16th. I have the class PHIL 247 taught by M. Krishnamurthy in my shopping cart as this is the course I wish to enroll in. However, the payment has not yet been processed, leaving me unable to enroll affecting my eligibility as a varsity student-athlete.
Given the urgent nature of my situation, I am petitioning for consideration to allow me to enroll in the required course or any other courses necessary for my academic progress. I understand it is past the course enrollment deadline, however, I request the consideration to add a course under these circumstances. Also, I would like to request that you take into account the impact this has on my participation in varsity athletics. I would appreciate remaining eligible to compete this season and due to my financial situation, I am required to be a full-time student to ensure that my tuition can be covered.
I am fully committed to both my studies and my role as a student-athlete and believe that this will help me continue to positively contribute to the university community. I appreciate your attention and am available to provide any additional information.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Samantha Mastel-Marr
