Academic Plan
I am currently enrolled in politics, however after my previous year in the program I realize I lack the interest for it and am much more suited for something like gender studies or sociology. Throughout my years at Queen¿¿s University those courses have tended to be my higher and more consistent marks. I will take three courses in each semester to work on improving my Grade Point Average also lowering my class work so I can be more successful and gradually make improvements throughout the term. Taking on a full course load right away in my position is a lot to achieve and not ideal which can take away from progression and was a result in my previous year at Queen¿¿s. I have demonstrated that I can be successful during the 2013-14 Fall Semester when I achieved a 2.0 GPA and believe that¿¿s attainable once again. I won¿¿t be returning to extracurricular activities, which allow me to fully commit to my studies until I¿¿m at a position where I can handle more responsibilities similar to the semester where I obtained a 2.0 GPA. I am a highly motivated individual who wants to succeed academically while still being part of the Queen¿¿s community. I value my time here at Queen¿¿s above all, and want to be successful. I plan to continue to work closely with my professors and teaching assistants and will go see them in their office hours in order to get the maximum guidance for my work. I plan on using the writing centre as a consistent resource prior to handing in all my assignments and write-ups. I plan on attending workshops for my personal benefit that correspond with my program and overall progression. Most importantly though I plan on taking care of myself and getting the guidance and moral support I need in order to be efficient and in control. I think that is the most important thing in terms of my academic success. I want to be back at Queen¿¿s university and knowing that¿¿s what I want I¿¿m willing to do whatever it takes to be here and improve if I¿¿m granted the opportunity. I will consistently meet with an academic advisor to ensure I¿¿m going in the right direction and meet the expectations. I hope that you can see I¿¿m ready to make extreme changes and hold myself accountable to my word.
