Petition Letter
I am writing to request your consideration regarding my recent midterm performance, which was significantly impacted by unforeseen scheduling changes that caused great distress.
I currently have accommodations in place that specify I should only write one exam per day to manage my anxiety and workload effectively.
Unfortunately, my midterm was rescheduled from November 5th to October 29th, and I was informed of this change via email with just 28 hours’ notice. This abrupt shift drastically reduced my preparation time and caused me considerable panic and anxiety.
*The emotional toll of this sudden change was far greater than if I had been required to write two exams on the originally scheduled day.
I was understandably overwhelmed by the situation,
I kindly ask you to reconsider the weight of the grade or consider a rewrite in light of these circumstances. I am committed to my academic success, and I would have performed to my potential had I been afforded adequate time to prepare as outlined in my accommodations.
