Petition Letter
When I began my third year of studies, I was excited because I was finally getting to take some of the courses that I was particularly interested in. Before the year started, I lost a close friend. He was a teammate and someone I truly admired, but I lost him. Once I started the school year, I was working hard to push off the sadness, not knowing how to deal with it properly, and I ended up burning myself out by week 5. The course load I took on was especially heavy since I took two chemistry courses that both had labs all my time was being filled with work, leaving no room for studying. I am realizing now that for the course I truly care about (MATH 280), I will most likely fail, but if I can drop the course now and take it the following year where I will hopefully be in a better place mentally and have a less elective heavy course load, then I can succeed in this course.
