Petition Letter
To the Associate Dean,
This letter is my petition to drop two of my fall semester classes before the final exam. The reason for this request is due to my registered disability with QSAS.
This semester has been quite rough for my mental health, especially while picking myself up from the Bader College disaster that occurred last year. My anxiety has been severely heightened and because of that I have not been able to perform to my ability in these two courses. I did not decide to drop these courses earlier because I thought that eventually everything would be fine, but time moves quicker than I thought. The past month I have faced anxiety of whether or not I should drop these courses, the right decision being yes but out of shame and anxiety I chose to stick it out.
In the best interest of my academics I am requesting to drop PHYS206 and PHYS242 this semester. I now realize I took action too late, and asked for help through this process too late. I have already changed my next semester to be more accommodating in the new year. Please accept this letter as my official petition and know that I have set myself up better for future semesters. Thank you in advance.
