My name is Chenchen Sun, and my student number is 20148072. I am writing to formally petition for the revocation of the decision to reject my Honours degree status (major in Mathematics, minor in Physics) due to a grade reassessment in PHYS 317 from the Winter 2024 term.
During the summer of 2024, I was notified that I was not permitted to proceed to an Honours degree because my cumulative GPA was below 1.90. At that time, this decision appeared to be appropriate based on the information available. However, it was later determined that a grade calculation issue in PHYS 317 directly affected my GPA and contributed to this situation.
Specifically, my final project grade in PHYS 317 was not included in the original evaluation. After discussing this with the course instructor, they kindly reviewed the situation and identified that the omission was related to the processing of my academic consideration approval.
