Petition Letter
Hello Professor Martin,
I am applying for credit standing for the ecology course (BIOL 300) this past semester. I had been dealing with severe mental health problems that made it next to impossible to perform at my best for this class. I had overworked myself to the point where I was having consistent panic attacks and depressive episodes which made it hard to even get out of bed let alone do all of the work I had to do. I have chronic mental health issues which were exacerbated by the strain I put myself under. In order to try and fix this I started seeking consistent counseling from a professional as well as increasing the dosage of my medication. It was around this time that I also reached out to you and we had our meeting where I told you I would be applying for credit standing. In order to make sure I don't end up in a situation like this again I have started to take less courses in a semester so I do not overwhelm myself. Unfortunately, as we had discussed in the meeting this was still a bit too late to have an impact on my mark for this class. As such I am asking for credit standing as previously discussed so this class will not effect my chances when applying for student research and work positions. I appreciate your understanding.
Regards,
Gavin Cordon
