Petition Letter
Dear Petitions Commitee,
I am writing to formally request an exception to the add-drop policy and be allowed to add GPHY102 to my schedule after the add-drop deadline. Despite being waitlisted for the course, I have attended every lecture and actively participated as if I were enrolled. I was in position one on the waitlist for over a week and hoped to secure a spot before the deadline. Unfortunately, when the add-drop period ended on January 17th, I was automatically removed from the waitlist despite my continued interest and engagement in the course. Additionally, I was still enrolled in the class schedule on Solus past that deadline until January 19th and not removed until today.
After realizing I was removed, I contacted the professor, Ian Strachan, to discuss my situation. The professor confirmed multiple available tutorials and seats in the lecture.
I understand the importance of adhering to deadlines; however, my circumstances demonstrate commitment and justification for an exception. Adding this course is crucial for my academic progress toward my major, and I am confident I can meet all course expectations given my participation thus far.
I kindly request that you review my case and consider allowing me to enroll in GPHY102. Please let me know if further information or documentation is required.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
Hannah Goad
