Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson and the Academic Petitions Office,
I am writing this petition to be able to take more than 6.0 credits through a Letter of Permission in order to fulfill my graduation requirements for this spring.
To give a little background on the situation, I applied for graduation earlier this month and receive an email back on the last day of the add courses period for the winter semester saying that I was 6.0 units short of econ credits and 3.0 units of elective credits. Now I have replied to the email with an attachment of my current LOP from Athabasca showing that I’m currently taking my required 6.0 of Econ credits. But I was quite surprised to see that I was missing an elective credit. Upon speaking with an Arts and Science advisor I realized that I had completed one too many courses outside of the Arts of Science department and therefore it wouldn’t count towards graduation.
I’m going to be done my current courses at Athabasca by the end of February and really don’t want to have to wait until the spring/summer to fulfill my elective credits since that means I would have to wait until the fall to graduate instead of the spring.
Sincerely,
Charlie Purcell
