Petition Letter
Dear Office of Academic Affairs,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing as a non-degree interest student to request permission to enroll in two additional courses this semester. I have successfully completed PHGY 170 and ANAT 100, which were the two prerequisites courses remaining in order to be eligible to progress to the the degree option. However, I was not informed of a deadline to transfer to the degree program, and thus I was unable to submit my request in time after completing these courses. The faculty also advised that I wait until after completing the required courses before seeking to transfer, which unfortunately led to this misunderstanding. I was instructed to complete the courses before requesting to progress to the degree option. While I understand and accept my current non-degree status, I urgently need to enroll in a total of five courses this semester to meet the full-time study requirement for a future program I intend to apply for. The misinformation I received has inadvertently affected my academic progress and future opportunities. I kindly ask for your understanding and support in allowing me to take these additional courses, as it is absolutely necessary in order to achieve my educational aspirations. Thank you for considering my request.
Sincerely,
Saron Girma
