Academic Plan
Academic Plan for Future Success
If my petition is granted, I intend to take the following steps to ensure my academic success while prioritizing my mental health and well-being:
1. Accelerating My Academic Progress While Managing Workload
My primary goal is to graduate as soon as possible, as I have already invested significant time and effort into my studies.
To compensate for the withdrawn courses, I plan to retake them at the earliest opportunity, including enrolling in summer courses or adjusting my schedule to maximize course completion each term.
I will work closely with my academic advisor, Daralyn Auld, to explore options such as course substitutions, online courses, or increased course loads if feasible to stay on track for graduation.
2. Seeking Academic Support and Strategies for Efficiency
I will proactively use Student Academic Success Services for study strategies and time management to handle an accelerated course load effectively.
I will maintain regular communication with my professors and actively participate in office hours to ensure I stay ahead in coursework.
If necessary, I will consider alternative assessment accommodations to better manage coursework while balancing my health.
3. Managing My Mental Health to Sustain Academic Performance
I will continue receiving psychological support from Dr. Lisa Couperthwaite and, if needed, seek further evaluation from a psychiatrist.
I will implement structured self-care routines to ensure my mental health does not deteriorate under academic pressure.
I will make use of Queen’s Student Wellness Services for additional mental health support as I navigate an accelerated academic plan.
4. Long-term Commitment to Academic Recovery
I recognize the setbacks I have faced, but I am fully committed to overcoming these challenges and making up for lost time.
By implementing these strategies, I am confident in my ability to stay on track for graduation while ensuring my academic performance meets my personal and professional goals.
I sincerely appreciate the Faculty’s consideration of my request and remain committed to making the necessary adjustments to succeed academically.
