Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
I am requesting your assistance in reviewing my Assignment 1 grade in CISC/CMPE 223, as per the university's petition process. Despite following all outlined procedures, I have not received a response or explanation regarding my request, and my grade was finalized without consideration of my written work. I sent three separate emails and two forwarded emails to both the professor and the Head TA but did not receive a response addressing my concerns.
I submitted Assignment 1 on February 7, 2025, but mistakenly omitted my written portion, which included state diagrams and theoretical justifications. This was an unintentional submission error, not a failure to complete the work.
Upon realizing this on February 13, 2025, I immediately contacted Dr. Salimur Choudhury, providing proof that my written work was completed before the deadline. Despite follow-ups, I was not acknowledged until February 24, 2025, when my grade (40%) was finalized without my missing work being considered.
I followed all outlined communication procedures:
February 13: First email to Professor Choudhury.
February 24: Advised to contact the Head TA, Tasnim Ahmed, and emailed them.
March 4: Sent a follow-up email to the Head TA.
March 7: Spoke to another TA, who said they would raise my concern.
March 19: Second in-person meeting with Professor Choudhury. He confirmed my case was discussed, said an email with reasoning would be sent, yet I have not received a response.
I received a 40% primarily because questions 1-5 were marked as
