Petition Letter
I am writing to formally petition for the removal of the COMM 221 course from my academic transcript due to extenuating circumstances that significantly impacted my academic performance.
During the examination period for the Fall semester, I became severely ill and was unable to attend the final examination for COMM 221. Although I initially intended to retake the course during the summer term to rectify my GPA, the recent introduction of the Applied Economics major has altered my academic requirements, making COMM 221 no longer relevant or required for my new academic path.
Originally, COMM 221 was mandatory for my program in Economics, which motivated my enrollment in the course. However, after transferring to the newly introduced Applied Economics major, COMM 221 does not align with my revised academic goals. Given this context, maintaining this course on my transcript unfairly impacts my academic standing without accurately reflecting my academic abilities or future direction.
I regret that I do not have formal documentation of my illness, but I sincerely hope my explanation sufficiently clarifies my circumstances. The illness directly affected my ability to complete COMM 221, specifically due to my inability to sit for the final examination.
I respectfully request your consideration for the complete removal of COMM 221 from my academic record. Thank you very much for your understanding and for reviewing my petition. Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely,
Maya Nate
