Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Ava Allison-Bourne and I am submitting this petition to waive the requirement to withdraw from studies for one year. This past year I have been dealing with health issues causing me to be in a lot of pain and there were many days when I was unable to attend class due to this pain. I tried to keep up by asking classmates for their notes, but it was not enough. I understand and acknowledge that I did not do my best this year, and I would appreciate a second chance.
Throughout the year, I was in and out of Kingston General Hospital due to pain in my lower left abdomen, and I have been referred to a gastroenterologist whom I am working with to figure out what is causing this pain and ways to manage it. This has affected not only my academic life, but my social and day-to-day life.
