A. Course of Study
Current Degree Plan: Majoring in Applied Economics (APEC) with a Certificate in Business (CIB) and no Minor
1. My academic advisement report has been taken into account and has been implemented in my upper-year plan below.
B. Full-Time vs Part-Time
1. Incomplete work: I didn’t do as well as I would have hoped on ECON 250 and ECON 222 due to medical circumstances, and am choosing to re-do them to raise my GPA. I have petitioned for Credit Standing as well, and am hoping this will not impact my studies abroad and will both be completed before Winter 2026.
2. I will not be working for the 2025-2026 school year.
3. Lighter Load: Due to my CIB and repeat of 2 courses, I may need to take a few summer courses in Summer 2026, but I don’t believe I need a lighter course load.
C. Strategies for Success
1. Challenges: The challenges I have encountered this past semester were unfortunately out of my control due to medical reasons. I plan to, in the future, reach out to available resources not only at Queen’s but by myself as well, have routine check-ups with health-care professionals, and balance school/personal time effectively to ensure productivity.
2. Skills: A few skills I need to build this coming school year are resiliency to uncontrollable issues and managing them more effectively. I also want to focus on my time management, and I would like to perfect it to ensure minimum anxiety regarding school work.
3. Resources: Some resources I plan to use are same-day counselling at Queen’s when I may be feeling overwhelmed or unable to tackle tasks. I am also hoping to focus on personal therapy and self-care, ensuring I am exercising and eating well to promote a decrease in my anxiety.
D. Academic Goals 2025-2026 and Abroad:
My academic goals for the upcoming year include going on exchange during the winter term of my third year (2026) to broaden my global perspective, travel and gain new academic and cultural experiences. I also aim to get more involved on the Queen’s campus by continuing to join clubs that align with my personal and professional interests, such as QRIA and QLEAD. Academically, I am committed to improving my performance in ECON 250 and ECON 22 by building stronger study habits and seeking additional support from TAs, Professors and Peers. Additionally, I plan to complete my Certificate in Business to strengthen my foundation in key business concepts of interest.
