Academic Plan
Currently in my academic path, I am enrolled in a chemistry degree. I am planning to switch into a history degree, and will reach out to the history department over the summer to find out the possibility of changing into a history degree. With that, I will plan out the courses I need to take in order to shadow the history degree path.
If I am allowed to return to academics this coming year, I will be enrolling in three courses for the fall semester. Taking a lighter course load will allow me to manage my time better, and implement my academic plan more effectively. Then for I can take 4 courses each term in the following 2 years to complete my degree. I have financial support, and will be able to balance my finances with courses.
The first step of my plan to return is to establish regular meetings with a psychologist, in order to work on strategies for managing my stress and anxiety. My plan also will involve managing and addressing my current challenges in academics, such as my anxiety, time management and organisation. As part of my future here at queens, I plan to work with Academic Advising and Academic Success Services in order to improve my organisation techniques that will aide me in managing my workload and submitting assignments on time. With these improvements, I will be able to return to academics with a better handle on my anxiety and time management, and will be successful in my courses.
When returning to academics, I will contact and make sure my current accommodations are known to each of my professors. Communicating with my professors is a priority of my plan, and I will reach out to them in the case of any struggles.
