Academic Plan
Academic Plan - Megan Pritchard
A. Course of Study
Mathematics, first year
I am committed to succeeding in the math program and confident in my ability to meet the academic demands. With the right support in place to maintain my mental well-being, I’m looking forward to continuing on this path and reaching my goals.
B. Full-time vs Part-time
I plan to enroll in four courses per semester (24.0 units) to maintain full-time status while allowing myself the time and focus needed to succeed in each course and rebuild my academic confidence.
In the case that the workload still feels onerous, I will explore my options for accommodations to further reduce my course load.
C. Strategies for Success
1. Continue taking medication as prescribed.
2. Contact an academic advisor at the beginning of term to discuss my path forward.
3. Consult with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) regarding potential accommodations.
4. Attend classes regularly and seek help when needed from professors, TAs and on-campus resources.
5. Set up regular check-in with my parents to monitor mental state and academic success.
6. Familiarizing myself with my professors office hours, TAs, and resources at Queen’s to make it easier for me to seek help when needed.
Academic Interest, Demands, Skills and Work Habits
So far I have enjoyed the classes I have taken and my area of study. I found myself capable of following along in lectures, managing my time and completing the work assigned to me when I was in a good mental state.
Academically, I feel like I am on the right path and that I am capable of succeeding moving forward.
Personal Circumstances
On February 15, 2025 I entered a skid and rolled my car on my way home for reading week. Luckily my passenger and I were unharmed, but the loss of my car and the mental trauma of the accident had a lasting effect on my wellbeing.
