Petition Letter
Petition Letter – Request for Late Withdrawal from ARTH101
Dear Petitions Committee,
I am writing to respectfully request a late withdrawal from ARTH101. Due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to complete the course or submit a withdrawal request by the deadline.
In late May 2025, I experienced the sudden death of my best friend, which severely affected my ability to focus, keep up with coursework, and engage in academic responsibilities. While I continued to work through other course material where I could, I fell behind in ARTH101 and was ultimately unable to complete the course requirements.
I have obtained a Verification of Extenuating Circumstances letter from the university, which is included with this petition. At the time, I was also in the process of navigating supports and managing the situation, which delayed my ability to submit a formal request.
I am now focusing fully on my studies and well-being, and I hope you will consider this request with understanding. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Fiona LeClair-Robertson
