Petition Letter
To the Arts & Science Petitions Committee,
I am writing to respectfully request a waiver of the June 11, 2025 deadline to petition the requirement to withdraw from my program.
Unfortunately, I was unable to submit my petition before the deadline because my student account was on hold due to an overdue balance. As a result, I did not receive email notifications about the requirement to withdraw, and my SOLUS account did not display this information either. I was only able to see the notice a couple of days ago, after I paid the overdue balance and the hold was removed. Because of this, I was unaware of the petition deadline and unable to act sooner.
I remain very committed to continuing my studies at Queen’s and have been preparing a plan to improve my academic performance, including following a structured study schedule, accessing tutoring and advising services, and reducing outside commitments so I can focus on my academics.
I sincerely apologize for missing the original deadline and respectfully ask for the opportunity to have my case reviewed. I am ready to provide any supporting documentation required and to follow all next steps if this waiver request is granted.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ghazal Ghorbi
