Academic Plan
If I’m given permission to go on exchange in Prague, I have a clear plan in place to make sure I stay on track academically and continue to do well in my program.
First, I’ve kept a strong academic record at Queen’s with a well-standing GPA, and I plan to maintain that same level of commitment while abroad. I’m a very timely person, I take deadlines seriously and make sure my work is done on schedule. Those habits have always helped me manage my courses well, and they’ll be just as important while balancing new classes in Prague.
Second, I have the proper financial support in place to cover both academic and living expenses, which means I can fully focus on my studies without added stress. I’ve also been fortunate in that I haven’t faced any obstacles that would get in the way of my learning. This stability allows me to devote as much of my energy as needed into engaging with the coursework and making the most of the exchange. As well, I am confident in my ability to adapt to new changes. I have shown in the past that I am more than capable of adjusting to new challenges, and I view studying abroad as another opportunity to build on that strength.
I feel very fulfilled in my degree so far and I see this exchange as a way to take it a step further. As someone who is potentially looking at a career in marketing, the courses I have chosen to take abroad will help me explore that interest further and understand what I would like my professional future to look like.
My strategies to ensure academic success will include there following:
- Maintaining consistent communication with Queens Study Advisors to ensure smooth transfer credits and alignment with my program
- Balancing my workload to ensure that I m staying on top of my academics
- Building connections with my peers and professors abroad to broaden my global perspective and immerse myself into this new culture
