Petition Letter
To Dean of Studies,
I am appealing to drop GEOL 104 and ARTH 242 with a full refund because of my extenuating circumstances. I had and am currently suffering from chronic fatigue and vitamin deficiencies. I am also a student wwith dylexia a type of learning disability and anxiety. I need extra time to finish assignments in both of these two course however I ran out of time I needed to finish this resulted in a fail in both courses. There were assignments in the labs for the GEOL104 course the information was hard to understand and the professor was not there. The courses were not well accomodated for learming disabilities not conducive to learning disabilities because I could not get more time to finish. I have not been able to finish and pass the courses because the professors could not grant any additional time to finish. I have also been having problems with my living arrangement. My apartment has serious maintenance issues that were affecting my well being. I could not take a shower in the morning because there were terrible plumbung problems and the drains were not working. The chronic fatigue and the vitamin deficencies has been causing me to be feeling tired and weak all the time. This has affected me so I have not been able to finish my assigments in a timely manner. The professors were not willing to give more time to finish the assignments to pass the courses.I am using a bursery and I am not allowed to have any failures to continue on with the bursery. I have tried to be carefull what I take at Queen's however after care in choosing couses I am still running into problems that are out of my control.
Please consider my appeal to drop the GEOL 104 Course and the ARTH 242 course.
