Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Mia Donatucci (Student ID: 20350704), and I am writing on behalf of Group 34 in “ENIN 301 – Creative Entrepreneurship” (Instructor: Professor Sidneyeve Matrix) to request a formal review and regrade of our Group Assignment 1, “Selling Art Outside Galleries.” We completed the required informal review step by emailing Professor Matrix within the stated window; our grade of 78% (B+) was not adjusted, and we did not receive assignment‑specific feedback beyond general class comments.
Professor Matrix circulated a list of common “improvement areas” to the whole class (e.g., narrow framing, insufficient research data, under‑citation of course concepts, incomplete referencing, weak visuals). Our group prepared a table, shared with the instructor, mapping each of those issues to specific elements of our submission that appear to address them fully (multiple problem frames, extensive secondary research with large‑sample studies, consistent APA citation, integrated figures and tables, and explicit use of course concepts from Modules 1–3). Yet our mark remained unchanged and we received no explanation indicating which parts of our answers were under‑evaluated or why they did not meet a higher grade band.
Our concern is therefore not simple dissatisfaction with the grade, but that our research‑based written answers were substantially under‑evaluated relative to the stated criteria and that the justification provided was generic rather than specific to our work. Without assignment‑level comments identifying weaknesses in our framing, research integration, conceptual application, or visuals, it is difficult to reconcile the B+ with the evidence in the report and the class‑wide feedback that does not appear to fit our submission.
We respectfully request that our Group Assignment 1 be reviewed by the Faculty’s designated readers under the formal process. We will provide: (1) a clean copy of our report, (2) the general class feedback, (3) the ENIN 301 syllabus and assignment description, (4) our comparison table of “improvement areas” versus our report content, and (5) our correspondence with Professor Matrix documenting the informal review attempt.
Thank you for considering this petition for a formal grade review.
Respectfully,
Mia Donatucci
