Petition Letter
Dear Petitions Administrator,
I am petitioning for a late drop of PSYC 320.
My academic performance was heavily compromised due to psychological challenges. I suffer from intense anxiety, specifically around examinations.
PSYC 320 was run, where 90% of the course grade was dependent on the examinations - 25% for midterm 1, 25% for midterm 2, and 40% for the final exam. Because of the way this course was set up, I was placed at a disadvantage and struggled heavily.
I have been struggling with these psychological challenges since 2017, and have been getting treatment since. My current psychologist has been treating me since 2024.
I have spoken to the instructor, Dr. Poppenk, and have received his approval for this petition for a late drop.
