Petition Letter
Hello,
Unfortunately, six years ago, my father was diagnosed with melanoma. In 2022 it spread to his lymph nodes, and last May, 2025, it entered his head. This is when he had his first craniotomy. It was a 3.5 cm tumour that was removed from the left side of his head. Following this in September, he had his second one. a 3.5 cm tumour that was removed from the left side of his frontal lobe. In April I was told to come home from school by him. When I came home, he sat me down and told me he was going to die. The melanoma spread from his brain down into his spine and spinal fluid. In the later part of April I had become his primary caregiver, as he could not walk anymore with the tumour pressing against his spine. On May second he passed away with tumours in his head, so he was unable to speak or walk. He passed away because all of his organs ended up failing and his lungs filled with fluid. He had a seizure at 11:30pm and choked to death on this fluid. I watched it unable to do anything. This is something that has really scared me and something that I need some time to work on for myself before doing anything else. My ASCX teacher told me I cannot complete the class and to ask to drop it late, as there is nothing she can do. I would really like to complete PHAR, but it is just way too early for me to take this exam.
Thanks,
Fischer.
