Petition Letter
I am submitting this petition to request permission to enroll in IDIS 199 after the Summer 2026 add deadline.
Prior to the add deadline, I had been consistently attempting to enroll in IDIS 199 through SOLUS. Initially, I received reserve-related enrollment errors indicating that I did not meet the enrollment criteria. I had previously been advised that the reserve restrictions for the course would lift on the first day of the term, at which point I should be able to enroll.
However, the restriction did not lift for me as expected. Despite continuing to attempt enrollment after the start of the term and before the add deadline, I then began receiving a different SOLUS error stating that I “do not have access to perform this transaction at this time.”
Because of these ongoing enrollment errors, I was unable to successfully enroll in the course before the add deadline despite repeated attempts and continued follow-up with university offices. Throughout this process, I remained in communication with Arts and Science Student Services and the Faculty of Health Sciences to clarify the issue and seek guidance regarding the enrollment restrictions and system errors.
I have since contacted the course instructor, Dr. Cunningham, who indicated support for late enrollment consideration.
I am respectfully requesting consideration for late enrollment because I made continuous efforts to enroll prior to the deadline, and the circumstances preventing enrollment were outside of my control.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
