Petition Letter
I am requesting permission to enroll in PHGY 216 after the add deadline for the Summer 2026 term.
I previously completed the course this past Winter semester. However, I only received my final grade for the course two days ago and was unaware prior to that point that my performance had been significantly lower than expected. Because of this, I was unable to make an informed decision about retaking the course before the add deadline passed.
Once I received my grade and realized I would benefit from retaking the course, I immediately contacted Arts and Science Student Services and the course instructor to explore my options. I was advised to submit an academic petition requesting late enrollment, along with instructor support.
I understand the importance of academic deadlines and would not have delayed enrollment had I known my final grade earlier. I am prepared to fully commit to the course and catch up on any missed material.
