Petition Letter
To whom this may concern,
I am petitioning to drop my physics 115 course. Prior to the last date to drop fall term courses, I was doing well in physics and had no intentions of dropping the course. During exam season, I got sick with the flu and got academic consideration to write a deferred exam.
In addition, I started struggling with migraines during first semester - which I now have accommodations for - but at the time of my deferred exam period, I was in the process of receiving them. My first appointment with my advisor wasn't until reading week. After much preparation and studying, I went into the exam and had a severe migraine - leading to me failing the exam and the course.
I was unable to drop the course at this time, as the deadline had already passed. Now it is affecting my GPA and my ability to apply for major plans. I would be grateful if the course could be dropped from my transcript.
