Academic Plan
Since the conclusion of the second semester, having returned home for the summer break, my mental state has recovered significantly. I have taken the time I had desperately needed to calm my mind, speak with my doctor, socialize, exercise, and return myself to a functional state of both mind and body.
Over the course of the past 2~ months I have been working to build up the resources I need, and make the necessary changes to ensure I am prepared for this upcoming year, and that a situation like this doesn’t occur again.
I am in the process of finding a new medication to help regulate my ADHD, having recently switched to a new type to test its potential. I have also since had the dosage of my anti-anxiety medication increased, with the potential for further increases if necessary.
In addition, I’m currently in the process of finding a therapist to aid with my anxiety and to help learn how to manage depressive-episodes. At the moment I am utilizing Psychology Today, a site which was recommended to me by my family doctor. I have also been speaking with a specialist from Shift Collab to help build skills and strategies to better manage my ADHD outside of just my medication.
Moving forward, my current academic plan is to retake CISC 102 and 124 to achieve the required grade needed to enter into a Computing major, and focus my remaining classes on fulfilling the requirements needed for a minor in English. Over the course of the following summer semesters I plan to take additional classes to make up for missing credits as well as increasing my current GPA.
