Petition Letter
To the Associate Dean (Studies),
I am appealing to enter the course Film 110 past the add/drop deadline. This is my second year at Queen's University. I am completing a BAH, I chose to do a philosophy and psychology medial at the end of last year. I have found that I am not as interested or satisfied with my plan as I had thought I would be. I have not been enjoying my courses and I do not want to continue to pursue this plan. I am interested in pursuing a major in Film and Media but I have not taken the first year course which is necessary to do in order to major in Film. I have been granted permission from the professor of Film 110 Susan Lord to enter the course late. If I do not complete the course this year then I will have to do it in my third year as there are no options for me to complete it online or in the summer. This would be very challenging for me as it would put me quite behind in my plan. I have spoken with an academic advisor in Dunning Hall and the first step to changing my plan is taking this course. I would be very appreciative if it was approved for me to join this class. Changing plans in the future will ensure that I have academic success and that I enjoy my time here at Queen¿¿s as much as possible.
